Three Easy Steps To Double Your New Sales in Only 30 Days
I talk a lot about online marketing and the Internet because that's my passion.
But like you, I'm also a business owner.
That means I wear many hats and it feels like I'm constantly putting out fires.
Often, I neglect filling my pipeline with new work or planting the seeds for new sales to find there way to me.
The rationalizations are quite legitimate:
There are only 24 hours in a day
I have a lot of work
A project that isn't working out well that needs all my attention
The phone rings with "why can't I get on the first page at Google"
The kids have a soccer tournament
There's a lot of SPAM in my inbox
more...

But the bottom line is: SALES.
New sales are the oxygen your company needs to survive.
So how do you keep new sales coming in the door without ending up in the nut house?
Here's a simple and effective way to double your business in the next 30 days.
I'm serious, it works. It doesn't require you read a new book on sales, it doesn't require you to get a contact management system, you don't need a computer, spreadsheet, and you can expect to get great results.
Do this consistently every day of the year and you'll have more business than you know what to do with.
1) Business Card
If you don't have a GREAT business card you're starting the race handicapped.
It should be professionally designed, full color, probably photographic-style, and it has to communicate who you are, what you do, and how to contact you.
Use the front AND back of the card. Don't try to save a few $$$ when it comes to your business card. It should be printed on a high-quality, stock paper, have print that doesn't bleed when a drop of water hits it, and the card should feel substantial not flimsy.
Power Tip: Use the back of your business card to provide a compelling offer to visit your website, maybe a free engagement photo (if you're a photographer), maybe a simple "free initial consultation."
I think the back of business cards are seriously under-utilized space that can deliver BIG results and add real "punch" to your marketing efforts.
2) Your Elevator Speech
I learned early that you have about 30 seconds of someone's attention and time.
In that time you have to (1) impress them enough with your general presence and manner, (2) effectively communicate what you do, (3) what the value/benefit is, (4) what makes you different, (5) how they can reach you, and (6) is there anything you can do for them or do they know anyone who is looking for the services you offer.
Wow... that's a lot.
Your Elevator Speech is a 30 second sales pitch: who you are, what you do, what you do for others, your unique value proposition, and how to contact you.
And of course, you have your business card ready to hand to them (after your speech, you want them to pay attention while you're talking!), right?
3) 10 x 5 Days A Week
Here's where the rubber meets the road.
Introduce yourself to 10 new people every day of the working week.
You can have weekends off or use that time to get ahead for the coming week! Give away 10 business cards everyday. I'm not talking about leaving them on car windsheilds, I'm talking about introducing yourself to ten new people a day, giving them your elevator speech, and handing them your business card.
